The artist now resides in Lincolnshire, the land of big skies and big wide open landscapes, but is a Scottish lass born in the Dumfriesshire borders with both the Solway Firth and the countryside within easy walking distance from her house. This is her history.

"I spent my childhood either cycling up and down country lanes or walking the sea shore dunes and grew up to appreciate the beauty of my homeland. A toddler would be found with a pencil or paintbrush normally defacing yet another story book with scribbles and attempts to draw. A fondly remembered uncle who was an artist would allow me, as a little girl, to pester him to be allowed to come along on his painting trips which would occupy us for a whole wonderful day."

Who hasn't found a spot like this and lingered for an afternoon, beside a slow moving river that winds past trees with otter and kingfisher just out of sight. This painting would make a thoughtful present for parents or grandparents.

LANDSCAPES IN THE DEEP MID WINTER

Rivers wind gently through English countryside, with ground harden by a heavy frost touched by recent falls of snow. These Christmas card scenes evoke happy thoughts of Sunday lunch with family and friends, followed by a walk through the fields with the dogs running ahead, and a cup of tea to come. These paintings can be framed, or commissioned for greeting cards, Christmas cards, and calendars.

Muddy farm tracks, as winter snow turns to Spring thaw and greening trees. These wide skies are almost Constable, but not the landscapes of the Essex and Suffolk border. Further North, past the Norfolk fens to the Linconshire Wolds.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

The artist attended Glasgow School of Art but found little inspiration there, sketching dusty white marble statues for the tutor. A longing to paint realistic landscapes led first to watercolour before realising that the style of painting was more suited to oils. "Paint what you see, not what you think you see." guides this artist who hails from the Borders of Scotland and now lives in Linconshire.

Having been a holder of the Nichols Challenge Cup – Heckington Agricultural Show awarded 1st and 2nd place in three mediums – oil, acrylic and watercolour, the artist has progressed from this village show - albeit one of the largest villages in England - to commissions that grace the homes of Scotland, Germany and Canada.

"I feel art is in my veins - something I feel compelled to do. - I personally feel quite miserable if I can't paint for any reason. Artist block and I admit I am totally unbearable to live with. Sitting in my studio at my easel with Pink Floyd or something classical playing in the background and I am in my element totally blissfully unaware of either time or place."

Original oil paintings

Each oil painting is typically supplied behind glass framed in a dark mahogany frame with a gilt inner edge with a double ivory coloured mount, or framed as a typical oil painting in a swept frame if collected locally. The painting is supplied unframed if shipped rather than collected in person.

Limited edition prints

All prints are limited edition and are produced to exacting standards to ensure faithful image representation. The images are printed using state of the art giclee printing system, using fade dye resistant inks on archival quality canvas or paper. Each print is separately priced and rolled in a tube for delivery, or can be packaged flat with a backing board, double mount and wrapped in cellophane. UK delivery takes 2-3 weeks after funds have cleared, dependant upon print availability - International shipping takes a little longer.
