Affordable art

ArtOriginals want to make art assessable to a much wider public, both in the home and in the workplace. Art should be everywhere!

It also wants to help artists survive and prosper.

By cutting out the middleman and using the Internet to open doors to an international audience, ArtOriginals reaches people in home and offices around the world who would not normally have the time, inclination or budget to traipse around umpteen galleries.

The artists only pay 10% commission on their sales, which contrasts with the high mark-up of galleries (typically 50% - 100%+) and traditional art websites (typically 25% - 50%+).

Who is the artist?

If you buy clothes because of a label - you are a fashion victim. If you buy art because you recognise the name of an artist - you are like 99% of all art buyers... crying out for art that you found yourself and that truly inspires you.

Here's something rather unique in the art world... ArtOriginals does not disclose the name of the artist!

Why... because you should be looking at the art, not the name! By keeping the artists anonymous, you have no option but to discard preconceptions and prepare to go on your very own art safari. Be your own curator, click on images you like, follow links and experience the joy of discovering art for yourself.

When you finally send that email direct to the artist, it could be to Damien Hurst (unlikely), Tracy Emin (equally unlikely) or even Picasso (highly unlikely!), although a number of famous artists and well known photographers do have webpages - see if you can spot them! What you can be sure is that the artist will be delighted to explore your ideas with you, then create the art of your dreams.

Art showcases

ArtOriginals is a showcase of artistic talent, style and interests. The numerous thumbnail images are intended to surprise and dispel preconceptions. So, while you might have come looking for a watercolour, you may leave with an entrancing digital image. Perhaps you were seeking an iconic photograph, yet you left with a huge oil painting. Prepare to be surprised!

Click on any image to go to the artist's showcase. At the bottom of every page you will find more images that will take you to related art - enjoy exploring until you find a style and subject matter that captures your imagination.

Each showcase has a link to the artist's on-line 'Art Gallery'. This is a facility that allows you to view larger images (the larger the image size you select, the longer the images take to download). You can also print out a contact sheet with image reference details, which can help when discussing your preferences with the artist.

Contacting the artist

When you have found what you a looking for, simply send an email directly to the artist to enquire about stock or discuss a commission. We get copied on this email but not on the reply, which will come directly to you from the artist. You agree the terms, method of delivery and payment direct with the artist.

That's all there is to it! No expensive mark-up and no need to haul yourself from one gallery to the next. In fact there's nothing artyfarty about it at all! It's just you, the artist and the art.
