The artist has long been fascinated by the images on the walls, and the people who painted them. Why did they do it? What were they like? We will never know. They had speech, but not writing, and they had immense talent and vision.

The colours had to be mixed from oxides and organic material. They made their brushes from sticks and animal hair, and they had to make lamps from carved out sandstone fired by animal fat or resin.

ABOUT THE ART

The artist paints on board that is covered and glue then sand to give a very rough textured surface to paint on. This helps achieve an ancient effect to the background. Acrylics are used, as oil would be too bright. it is the patina of age that the artist strives to achieve with each painting.
